International Education Consultancy

Anthony brings over 20 years experience in the international education and technology sectors to the leadership of praxMatrix education.

He is a graduate of the universities of Sydney, New England and New South Wales and holds a Masters in English Literature and Language as well as TEFL qualifications.

After an early career in hotel management he became involved in Australia’s burgeoning education export market.

He has been a lead consultant in Europe for the International Development Program of Australian Universities and Colleges (IDP), has written guides on Australian education for European students thinking of studying in Australia and counts over 50 universities and private international education organizations in his international education consultancy portfolio.

In association with Austrade and the IDP he gave a series of key seminars on Australian education at various universities in Europe and has provided consultancy services for non-European educational organizations wishing to penetrate the European market.

He has a broad and extensive understanding of the European education market with particular expertise in international language training and English as a Foreign Language (EFL). His consulting approach is informed by his understanding of the issues surrounding education both in the countries of the European Union and non-participating European countries.

His clients have included Austrade and IDP Australia, INSEARCH – The University of Technology, Sydney, The American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP) and University and College Intensive English Programs (UCIEP) in the USA, ALTE, ARELS, English in Britain, Colleges in Britain, EduFind, The British Council, BASELT, IELTS, and UCLES in the UK, as well as the Milan Chamber of Commerce in Italy.

He was Director of Mondolingua, Geneva between 1993 – 1995 and developed a number of video based English language courses for Swiss television.

He has been published in a number of journals, including the International Journal of Education, has written an award winning English grammar and has been a speaker at such events as the BASELT Conference (UK), The International Education Marketing Conference (Geneva), and The ARELS Conference (UK) where he has spoken on successfully leveraging Internet technologies for recruitment, e-learning and marketing.

He has designed and delivered communications and training programs to clients in Germany, the USA, Scotland, and England.

Since 1995 he has worked on a wide range of Internet projects for education and educational marketing and has provided many leading organizations with consultancy regarding ‘best use’ of the Internet for marketing, e-learning and re-purposing of courses and recruitment. He has been lead designer in major projects including those for IELTS, English in Britain and the American Association of Intensive English Programs and has developed e-learning and software projects for education including a TEFL Teacher training course with the University of the West of England and an Internet Users’ Guide for an EU funded Milan Chamber of Commerce project.
